Cornerstone Architects is typically recognized for itís variety of Architectural projects. However, over the last 9 years a notable percentage of those projects have included Interior Design and Furnishings by Cornerstone as well.

Projects range from numerous tenant fit-outs in a number of downtown Grand Rapidsí historic buildings, including offices for The Frey Foundation, Select Bank and Catholic Social Services, to a wide variety of school buildings for both Traverse City Schools, Northwestern Michigan College and Interlochen Center for the Arts. Our work also includes a number of unique restaurants in both Traverse City and Grand Rapids.

Since many of our projects have involved renovation of existing or historical buildings, from an Interior Design perspective we have become creatively adept and combining our clientís needs with the design challenges often presented by existing buildings. We continually educate ourselves on new, innovative, economical, and ecologically responsible materials for use in interior spaces.

Our goal is to tailor our Interior Design Services to fit our clientís needs and budget. Working with the clientís existing furniture and furniture systems and supplementing with new, together with the use of a variety of color and finish materials has resulted in exciting new environments. Lobby and common space enhancements have provided a much needed face lift for existing buildings and as a result attracted new tenants. Innovative millwork ideas and details, both custom and standard, that compliment the building architecture, have allowed us to create functional yet exciting public spaces such as libraries and restaurants.

We are proud that our creative use of color, attention to architectural detail, and use of furniture has transformed the many interior spaces of our projects, into comfortable, environmentally friendly, and easily maintainable spaces for those that use them.
