Project Description.

The 250 East Front Street Building in downtown Traverse City, Michigan is a newly constructed infill structure with a mix of uses.

The challenges involved the careful construction between a 1960 era bank building and a 1890’s era historic two story structure. The new construction would incorporate a new lobby for the adjacent bank, provide first level space for a restaurant and upper level executive office space inclusive of an exterior balcony to view West Grand Traverse Bay.

The design provided a compatible connect between the two adjacent structures, utilizing quality materials, large expanses of glass, and a street presence that was inviting and complementary to the architectural styles of the downtown areas.

The building has won several local and regional awards for its sensitive design regarding proportion and scale.
