5 Questions to Ask an Architect Before Committing

So wait a minute.  Cornerstone has done $24m projects with a staff of 10?!

Well actually, we have done more than $30m projects with a staff of 10.  Yes, it is “all-hands-on-deck” for the large projects, but we have some really talented team members.  Experienced architects and support staff enable us to be successful, but more importantly, provide creative solutions, technical skills, and attractive, functional structures that meet or exceed our clients’ expectations.  And we provide all that on schedule with a close watch over costs.

Often times, our competition is quick to explain how a large firm provides far better service, expertise, and creativity than a smaller firm can.  Maybe that’s the case in some situations, but sometimes it’s not the case.  And for those situations, Cornerstone Architects is an excellent choice!

At Cornerstone Architects, we have an awesome team of talented people eager to help you bring your visions to reality!

Before hiring an architect for your next project, be sure to ask the following questions:

  1. Is a Principal Architect for the firm going to be involved in my project?

On every project, at least one of our Principal Architects is heavily involved.  Additionally, the same design team is maintained from the first meeting through construction completion.

  2. Are the project architects and project managers experienced?

Our Project Architects are all registered architects and have at least 8 years of experience—some have more than 30 years of experience!  A lot can be seen in 30 years so their knowledge is valuable to our clients.

  3. Does the assigned staff have the ability to perform and live up to the claims the marketing team has promised?

At Cornerstone Architects, we all market and we all do the work.  Our clients do not pay for the overhead costs which result from large marketing departments.  Our team members are accountable from start to completion.  We find that when consistency, experience, and collaboration come together, beautiful architecture is created alongside long-lasting client relationships.

  4. How will my project fit in with the firm’s current work load?

We do not take on more than we can handle.  We do seek out projects that will benefit the client, the users, and the community.

  5. What consultants will be assigned to my project?

We work with a team of specialized consultants that assist our team as needed for scope and complexities of any project.

So, do you need a large architectural firm to do your $30m project?  Perhaps.  But it may be more cost effective to work with Cornerstone Architects who is equipped and experienced to handle your needs.
